Paris City Breaks

Paris city breaks

Paris is a huge bustling city rich in culture, architecture and history, and one of the best loved cities in the world. Known as the ‘City of Lights’, Paris is instantly thought of as a true romantic city. Its ancient monuments, fascinating museums and exquisite shopping make for an exciting short-break or weekend away.

Getting to Paris is simple. Fly into either the Charles de Gaulle International Airport or the Orly International Airport and take a swift RER train into the centre. Alternatively, take the Eurostar from the UK directly to Paris Gare du Nord station.

Once in Paris, there are many means of transport to whisk you around the different sites and city’s quarters. The most widely used method transport is the vast Metro system, but there are also the high speed RER trains and buses.

By far the most iconic and spectacular structure in France is the Eiffel Tower. Standing at a magnificent 324m tall, expansive views across the city can be admired, and unique dining experiences are to be had in divine restaurants on the first floor.

Paris is a shopper’s dream, with chic boutiques and designer stores lining the stunning tree lined avenue Champs Elysees. Arc de Triomphe, the majestic archway with the ever-lasting flame, stands at the top.

Other beautiful must-see sights are the famous Notre Dame, Museé de Louvre and the Basilique du Sacré Coeur. The lanes of Montmartre are thriving with street-performers, so join in the excitement and take a visit.

Round off each day with an intimate dinner sampling some impeccable Parisian cuisine. Be it on a narrow cobbled street, gorgeously lit square or vibrant boulevards you’re bound to have a fabulous night out.

The best times to go to Paris are in spring and winter. In the spring, the bright blue skies and warm climate makes Paris a glorious place, with fairs and Easter celebrations occurring throughout the city. In the winter, buzzing Christmas markets and sparkling lights create a romantic, charming atmosphere.
