Holidays to Psalidi

Psalidi, Kos. Greece.

A small suburb of Kos Town to the east of the capital, Psalidi offers the perfect quiet holiday destination for a great summer getaway.

With a transfer time from the airport of just over an hour, this laid back resort is tucked into a northern corner of the island, surrounded by lush countryside and sparkling blue seas. Holidays here are extremely relaxed, so enjoy soaking up the sun in this lovely location.

If you’re looking to book a Greek holiday away from the hustle and bustle of big towns and purpose built resorts, Psalidi is for you. This small coastal town boasts white washed villas and family run beach tavernas, backed by the beautiful Kos countryside.

Hours will be spent unwinding on a sun bed on the gorgeous stretch of sandy beach, where you can indulge in peace and quiet instead of the typical water sports and tourist crowds that line other beaches on the island. The beach here gently slopes into the sea, so is very safe for children to play.

Besides the beach and a few restaurants and bars in town, there’s not a lot else here. However nearby there is a water park – a fantastic day out for all the family.

Eating out in Psalidi is normally a traditional affair. Expect delicious home-cooked Greek dishes with everything from stuffed vine leaves, tzatziki dishes and moussaka on offer. After dinner entertainment usually revolves around the hotels, but if you want a livelier night out take a bus or taxi up the road to Kos Town. This busy capital is abundant in bars, pubs and clubs so is a great place for a night out.

During the days, why not hire a bike or take a leisurely stroll along the coast or inland through the glorious countryside. For nature lovers, Lake Psalidi offers a brilliant spot to admire the migrating flocks of birds and other wildlife. Alternatively, you could even take a boat trip from Kos Town over to Bodrum in Turkey if you’re feeling adventurous!

Just like a lot of the towns overlooking the Turkish coast, ancient castles still stand such as the 14th Century Castle of the Knights. Along with this are ancient Roman ruins of temples, so take a wander to these and explore the history behind this small resort.

Although only a small resort boasting traditional Greek apartment complexes for couples and families alike, there are also some bigger hotels boasting luxury accommodation, some even including spas!
