On the north west coast of Kos lies the up and coming resort of Tingaki. With a transfer time from the island’s only airport of anywhere between 30 minutes to an hour, it’s a great holiday destination for that perfect island holiday.
Tingaki is mainly known for its huge 10km long stretch of sandy beach, and it’s here where holiday makers spend the majority of their time. Whether you prefer to have a quiet spot to lay your towels, or would rather be near the beach tavernas relaxing on a sun bed, there’s always a place for you on Tingaki beach.
The gorgeous glistening blue sea is fabulous for a cooling swim, and with the beach gently shelving into the water it’s a great place for children to paddle and play safely. There are also designated areas for water sporting activities, so don’t miss out on the fun – try banana boating and jet-skiing for a fantastic time on the water.
Behind the beach lies the main ‘strip’, consisting mainly of restaurants and cafés. Everything from typically Greek food to typically British food is served here, but for a truly delicious meal head to one of the fresh seafood restaurants.
The strip is also home to the resorts’ few bars, where refreshing after dinner cocktails can be sipped and quiet music can be enjoyed. If you’re looking for a holiday abundant in lively nightlife, head to Kardamena or Kos Town instead.
If you want to stay in peaceful Tingaki, but fancy one night of partying, frequent buses run to both Kardamena and Kos Town so you can still indulge in a spot of dancing!
For those interested in time away from the beach, head inland on foot, by bike or even horseback and admire the beautifully luscious countryside. Look out onto the spectacular views across the sea, and perhaps catch a glimpse of the gorgeous Mediterranean sunset.
Being a small seaside resort, accommodation in Tingaki mainly focuses on self catering apartments, family run studios and small hotels. This means holidays here are relaxed, laid-back and low key and won’t get over crowded with tourists and the young and lively.
